Pants on women, ungodly. Therapy, satanic. Mental health medication, evil. IBLP published disease charts assigning sins to illnesses — migraines caused by guilt, sinus infections by fear. Birth control forbidden even when doctors warned that pregnancy could kill the mother. Tampons confiscated from teenage girls and called instruments of pleasure. Infants struck for crawling off a blanket in a practice the Duggars called “encouragement.”\n\nTony reveals the system hiding inside the list. Each prohibition removes one more connection to the outside world. No outside books, no television, no therapists, no doctors, no secular friends, no unsupervised conversations. That’s not faith.
