Attorney Blair Berk pressed the medical examiner on whether Celeste's injuries could have occurred after death, and got a detective to read messages where Celeste referenced harming herself, an attempt to muddy exactly how and when she died.\nBurke has been held to answer on first-degree murder with special circumstances, along with charges connected to illegal conduct with Celeste and unlawful mutilation of her remains.
