It stalled during the 2026 legislative session and has not become law. Scott explains why that matters: a person can experience domination as one continuous reality while the legal system keeps sorting it into disconnected incidents.\n\nJP Miller now faces federal cyberstalking and false-statement charges tied to alleged conduct from November 2022 through Mica’s death on April 27, 2024. Prosecutors allege unwanted contact, tracking devices, interference with her finances and daily activities, tire damage and an intimate image posted without consent. He has pleaded not guilty and has not been charged in connection with her death. His federal case is set for the October 2026 trial term.\n\nWhile Mica’s family pushed for a new law, JP moved into a new marriage. He married Suzie Skinner in June 2025. Suzie’s former husband, Chris Skinner, an Army veteran who became quadriplegic after a vehicle crash, died in a pool in September 2021. The death was ruled accidental. His family has raised questions publicly, and the matter has reportedly been revisited. No one has been charged in his death.\n\nNetflix interviewees have alleged JP and Suzie were involved before Mica died. JP denies that and has said they began dating later.
