Attorney Randy Spivey has called what happened foreseeable and foreseen.\n\nSix days later Pike regained consciousness and was speaking, and on October 7 her lawyers stood in front of Judge I'Ashea Myles asking her to order Tennessee to preserve the needles, the syringes, the IV lines, the drug lot numbers, the execution logs, the emails and the encrypted messages from that night. Their stated reason was simple: they have no idea what records exist, and without a court order the state controls all of it.
