✨ This episode was originally recorded in 2023. Since this episode was recorded, new information surrounding Buford Pusser has come to light and is not reflected in this episode.

During the 1950s and 1960s, a notorious group of criminals known as the State Line Mob operated along the Tennessee-Mississippi state line, primarily in McNairy County, Tennessee, and Alcorn County, Mississippi.

At the center of the operation were Jack and Louise Hathcock, who owned and operated motels, restaurants, clubs, and other businesses along the state line. Behind those businesses was a criminal empire fueled by bootlegging, illegal gambling, prostitution, robbery, corruption, and murder.

In Part 1 of The State Line Mob, we follow Jack and Louise Hathcock as their operation grows and the State Line Mob builds its empire along the Tennessee-Mississippi border.

Join us as we dive into the history, crimes, and people behind one of the South’s most notorious organized crime stories.
