On April 2, 2025, 17-year-old Austin Metcalf was fatally stabbed during a dispute at a track meet in Frisco, Texas. Witnesses described a brief confrontation between Metcalf and fellow student Karmelo Anthony before the encounter turned deadly. What followed was a case that quickly became one of the most debated stories in the country. Supporters argued Anthony acted in self-defense after being confronted and feared for his safety.
