rich 1.0 Judge Steven Hippler was supposed to hear arguments about whether he should be removed from Bryan Kohberger's post-conviction case. He filed an order the night before vacating the hearing  —  along with every other court date on the books. The prosecution has asked Hippler to throw out Kohberger's petition without any hearing at all, calling his claims bare and unsupported. The defense cites Hippler's sentencing language  —  calling Kohberger's acts grotesque evil and saying he found nothing redeeming  —  as proof the judge cannot be impartial. They also want the case moved back to Latah County. Family attorney Jason Goldman says this is the beginning of a longer fight.
