Hastings Pier Fire - 2 Days On.
@anakin1814 This incident has certainly put Hastings back onto the map & has attracted visitors to the town. It's ironic that it takes a tragedy to do so, but..... It's also brought the townspeople together.
“Death as a career move...” Yes, we’ve talked about this on many topics, haven’t we? I find that “You Can Save Me” sign highly ironic now. But if they rebuild it, perhaps this tragedy is exactly what that area needed to reboost interest? Morbid thought yes, but that’s how it goes. Michael Jackson sold more records in the last 1/2 of 2009 than ever. :(
@kenrg In a perverse kind of way, i've actually enjoyed doing this, over the past few days. The fact that it's something close to home obviously makes a difference. As i said in that blog post. I never would have thought of doing this, or been able to do this, a few years ago.

Hastings Pier Fire - The Aftermath
@anakin1814 The fact that 9/11 happened in NYC, means that the media were clos at hand. Having said that, to get the perspective of the ordinary people people involved, or caught up in an incident would have been very interesting to hear. As i said in a blog post, this technology makes us all potential citizen journalists. This incident has really brought that home to me.
I often wonder what 9-11 would have been like if we all had our iPhone and technology back then like we do now, just a few years later. Amazing how quickly we can get the word out. Good to see you being there was helpng other folks find out.
@omaniblog Thanks for listening. As i've said elsewhere, it's not just Hastings people who have fond memories of the pier. It has touched people all over the UK & the World.
