REFLECTIVE MOMENTS ~ August 13, 2010 Affirmations for Mama’s for Fertility, Pregnancy, Childbirth, Parenting & More! I am committed to our relationship being a priority. I understand that our relationship as it was prior to baby being born will transition into a new form after baby is born. I am committed to making our relationship a priority. Keep in mind there are some simple survival hints that Pam England gives in the “Birthing from Within” book pg 261 (must read for parents): • Lower your housekeeping standards – throw away your white gloves. • Recognize that baby care and household chores can’t be divided 50/50. At any given moment one parent will be doing more than the other. Try not to keep score. • Consider hiring a housekeeper (if you can afford it) until you adjust to the chaos. • Fight constructively. • Realize that however good a marriage becomes post baby, it will not be good in the same way it was prebaby. • Keep in mind whether your communication is nurturing or harming the marriage. Making your relationship a priority is important because our children learn about love, commitment, and relationships through watching our interactions. Make time for your partner and love each other in the best way you can. The Divine Light in Me sees the Divine Light in You. © 2010 Sharon Gourlay All rights reserved worldwide.

REFLECTIVE MOMENTS ~ August 19, 2010 Affirmations for Mama’s for Fertility, Pregnancy, Childbirth, Parenting & More! I use the word NO with authority today. By using the word NO I establish boundaries around my time, my resources, and my family. There is only so much time in the day. I admit that I am not Wonder Woman. I cannot be everything to everyone. Nor can I be everywhere for everyone. So today I reclaim my personal space and make my family the priority it needs to be. REFLECTIVE MOMENTS ~ August 24, 2010 Affirmations for Mama’s for Fertility, Pregnancy, Childbirth, Parenting & More! I am connected deeply to my baby. I realize that I am a parent today whether seeking a baby, currently pregnant, or a mother. As such I have a responsibility to provide loving touch to connect with my child. Immediately after birth it is essential that parents hold their baby and bond. Understand that the transition from womb to arms is environmental. We should be there for our children loving, supporting, and nurturing from the inside out. The Divine Light in Me sees the Divine Light in You. © 2010 Sharon Gourlay All rights reserved worldwide.
