From a boat in the Afon Hwch, close to where it enters Llyn Padarn, Walter Hanks, Fisheries Technical Officer for Environment Agency Wales, explains how they are trying to help protect the declining population of Arctic charr (torgoch) in the lake. More than 600 young fish were released, after being hatched at the Mawddach Hatchery, from eggs collected from Padarn charr nearly a year ago.
