Privatising The County Durham Markets?

Durham County Council have made the move to invite private operators to come and run seven of the council's local markets.

The authority hopes that by bringing private companies in they can save money as well as improve the quality of markets across County Durham.

There are however three local markets in Durham that are already run by private companies and BBC Tees's David Rhodes paid a visit earlier this week to one of them.
