Shahid-e-hasti-e-mutlaq ki kamar hai a'alam....(English)

People say, it is there, it exists, but I can’t accept it.) The word Shahid is behind the beautiful poetic stroke of Ghalib. Shahid (in Persian and Urdu) has a double meaning. It means ‘witness’, that is one who’s seen but it also means ‘beautiful’. And, the beauty here is that both the meanings fit in beautifully at the same time. Waist is the symbol of the beautiful and the delicate; it relates to femininity. But waist is also the symbol of masculine strength. Imagine extremely delicate feminine beauty: God’s own creation! While being created, this beauty must have witnessed the Creator (hasti-e-mutlaq, that is, the Absolute Existence). This Universe is the waist of this beauty. This beauty has a waist so delicate, so narrow, so thin that it is next to nothing. It is not there! This Universe is the strong and masculine waist of a saint, who is undoubtedly the witness to the Permanent existence of God. In reality, therefore, only HE is .... neither this Universe, nor the witness .... nor the waist ... be it delicate or beautiful ... or be it strong and masculine... !
