Important lesson: Parisian museums do not welcome visitors on Mondays

I surely cannot be alone in thinking it strange that, in this modern day and age, museums in Paris still close their doors to visitors every Monday? We learnt this lesson the hard way when attempting, for the second time in as many years, to enter Europe's largest science museum, the Cite de Science et Industrie in Paris.
