Is it time to slash the number of MLAs at Stormont?

Should the number of MLAs at Stormont be reduced? Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness has said he supports a cut in the size of the assembly to show politicians are prepared to accept part of the pain caused by budget cuts. There are currently 108 MLAs Previously Sinn Fein has said it was not convinced by arguments for cutting the number of MLAs because it might marginalise smaller parties and independents.
