Ugandan District makes dowry payment optional

In Uganda, the revered African custom of payment of dowry locally known as the bride price, is coming under fire. The Eastern district of Tororo recently passed a law prohibiting the compulsory payment of dowry bucking tradition. Women rights organisations blame the practice for increased violence of women. The BBC's Ignatius Bahizi reports from the district.
