Life in Leer, South Sudan

The town of Leer in Unity state in South Sudan is the home of the rebel leader, Riek Machar. In February of this year, it was captured by government forces. The hospital, run by Medecins Sans Frontieres, was attacked, and throughout the town many houses were burnt. Many of the inhabitants fled to the bush, and ate wild plants to survive. Leer is now back in the hands of the rebels. BBC Focus on Africa's James Copnall went to Leer and sent this report...
