Paul Carrack starts his set at the White Rock Theatre in Hastings

He probably has one of the most recognizable voices in music, was responsible for hits including "How Long? " (with Ace), "Tempted" (with Squeeze) and "Over my shoulder" (with Mike and the Menchanics), yet mention Paul Carrack's name to many people and they claim never to have heard of him. I've been wanting to see him in concert for quite a while, and having missed out when my dad saw him play last year in Tunbridge Wells I was delighted when my parents got me a ticket for his White Rock Theatre gig in November 2014. The concert was brilliant - a perfect mix of old and newer songs, played with a band which was clearly enjoying it as much as the audience. Paul was in fine voice (his soulful voice appears not to have changed a bit in all these years) and he played a variety of instruments during the 1hr 45m set, including some wonderful organ. Overall it was a great evening, and I would thoroughly recommend getting to one of the other dates in his pretty exhaustive tour.
