CarlowOpera

Over recent months we have been following a community arts project in Carlow – an opera called ‘Shelter Me From the Rain’. Last month we followed the hunt for the soloists to see who will perform composer Brian Irvine’s and writer John Mclduff’s work. The potential soloists we followed last month; Nicola Harding, Tony Murray and Damien Furlong have all been offered solo parts in the opera and will begin solo rehearsals shortly.
The creative team - led by conductor Fergus Shiel - have been working hard to get the music and the libretto finished and today, for the first time, we hear the music from the final scene of the opera – and find out what the local participants make of it.
