Raymond Glendenning’s distinctive tones were heard on the Country’s biggest fixtures for almost thirty years. Eighteen years on the FA Cup; and the 1962 World Cup. Not just football either: you would also hear him on racing commentaries, tennis and show jumping. He was up for it.

Raymond’s last commentary was heard in 1964; and he died ten years later.
