Seven PSNI officers disciplined over bungled investigation into the killing of a pensioner

The Nolan Show can reveal that seven police officers have been disciplined over the way they handled the investigation into the killing of a Lisburn man two years ago. Jim Heasley was attacked after a night out - he was found on the side of the road with serious injuries. But instead of launching a criminal inquiry officers repeatedly told family members that he had simply fallen. The 70 year old died ten days later.
Last month 48 year old Jackie Allen was jailed for three years after he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
Disciplinary ation against the officers was taken after the Police Ombudsman upheld the complaint from Jim's brother David. He's been speaknig to our reporter Lisa McAlister
