Two very moving poems by blind veteran Paul Jacobs. Paul was blinded by a Taliban bomb in Upper Sangin Valley, Helmand Province in Afghanistan’s front line in 2009. He was awarded the prestigious George Medal for bravery as he continued to protect his colleagues after he was wounded. His medal citation praised his ‘faultless courage, selflessness and dedication to his unit.’ #WorldWarOne #TheSomme #Poetry
