DUP deputy leader Nigel Dodds has said if the fall back position contained in an EU draft legal document is adopted Northern Ireland would effectively leave the UK. For that reason, Mr Dodds says the document is unacceptable and should be rejected. The EU draft document is based on the agreement struck between Theresa May and the EU in December to conclude the difficult "Phase 1" negotiations. It will be published later today. The so-called "backstop" option would kick in if the two other plans can't be agreed. The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar says it is up to Britain to bring proposals to the table if it does not wish to trigger the backstop agreement. Stephen spoke to RTÉ's Europe Correspondent Tony Connelly, UUP MLA Steve Aiken and Fine Gael's spokesperson on EU Affairs and the chair of the Seanad's Brexit Committee Senator Neale Richmond.
