夏のポラロイド (grass stains mix)

Composition by Celestial Noise Disco.

"This track is a rhythmic loft ambient meditation on summer sun, grass stains, breathless laughter, and the carefree attitude of a kid at his grandparents’ place in small town America in the early 80s as remembered through old and faded Polaroids.

"The piece is constructed entirely from the original sample of a Polaroid camera taking pictures (Polaroid i-zone). Though the Polaroid i-Zone was not introduced until 1999 and is not the same Polaroid cameras around in the 80s (the Supercolor, SX, and Sun were all cameras that people in my childhood had), the i-Zone could itself be considered a pale copy of a Polaroid camera. This makes the sound of the i-Zone itself nostalgic for the sound of a more robust non-toy Polaroid instant camera and thus allows that sound to be readily adapted for the nostalgic vibes of this track.

"The sample has been cut, chopped, filtered, stretched, effected, modified, glitched, and layered into its current form. Software includes: Cubasis 3, AUM, Patterning 2, and Eventide and AudioDamage effects (Apps) as well as Ableton Live, Logic X, and Izotope, Waves, and Cherry Audio VSTs (Mac).

"The track is best listened to through headphones for the subtle distinctions in the background ambience."
