QROT-084: DOJ says FBI omitted known contradictions about Steele Dossier when using it as source to get warrants against Trump team

DOJ OIG: The FBI itSELF knew, in JANUARY 2017, through official interviews that Steele's MAIN SUBSOURCE disagreed with the "dossier" but didn't include info in warrant applications
A quick peek at a major conclusion by the Justice Department upon review of FBI acts, that, due to their shortcomings, relatively incapacitated an administration, due to the distractions they provided. When, per a literal Justice Department Office of Inspector General review, they should not have provided such a distraction because the FBI KNEW the evidence was highly questionable but just DID NOT INFORM those deciding on the next dramatic step.
"However, as we explain later, the Crossfire Hurricane team failed to inform Department officials of significant information that was available to the team at the time that the FISA applications were drafted and filed. Much of that information was inconsistent with, or undercut, the assertions contained in the FISA applications that were used to support probable cause and, in some instances, resulted in inaccurate information being included in the applications. While we do not speculate whether Department officials would have authorized the FBI to seek to use FISA authority had they been made aware of all relevant information, it was clearly the responsibility of Crossfire Hurricane team members to advise them of such critical information so that they could make a fully informed decision."

For example, as detailed in Chapters Six and Eight, the Primary Sub-source [Igor Danchenko] made statements during his/her January 2017 FBI interview that were inconsistent with multiple sections of the Steele reports, including some that were relied upon in the FISA applications. Among other things, regarding the allegations attributed to Person 1 ["dossier" of Christopher Steele], the Primary Sub-source's account of these communications, if true, was not consistent with and, in fact, contradicted the allegations of a "well-developed conspiracy" in Reports 95 and 102 attributed to Person 1 .""
