Our conversation with Dr. V Issa White, a candidate for US Congress on 98.5 The Wire

Dr. V. "Issa" White is one of the nation’s premier scholars on Islam among people of African descent and Latinos in the Americas. He has appeared on national and international networks such as Al Jazeera, BBC, PBS, NPR, Good Morning America, CNN, and FOX to name a few. In addition, his works have been printed in the London Times, New York Times, Los Angeles and The Jewish Forward Magazine among others. 

As a graduate of Bethune-Cookman University, Purdue University and The Ohio State University he has a stellar record in the areas of Constitutional and Legal History, Public History, Labor, and Social History, and Caribbean and Latin American History. Dr. V. "Issa" White  was the last academic to interview Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall. In addition, Dr. V. "Issa" White  work in Public History and Historical Archeology has been illustrated in major documentaries on the History Channel, Discovery Network, C-Span, and several international networks. In this light, he served as the Head of the Ethnic and African American Studies Department at the University of Illinois and later the Director of Public History at the University of Central Florida
