Episode 6: Covid-19 and the future of graduate recruitment - Dr. William E. Donald.

Nov 11, 2020, 12:00 AM

Discover some initial findings from research carried out with Professor Yehuda Baruch and Dr Melanie Ashleigh of Southampton Business School, University of Southampton, UK. Since early July 2020, they have been interviewing Careers Advisors and Graduate Recruiters to understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on graduate employment in the accounting, banking, and finance sector (although many of the findings apply to other sectors). The research has focused on four themes regarding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on (1) the number of graduate vacancies, (2) changes to the nature of graduate jobs, (3) changes to the graduate recruitment process, and (4) the revised expectations of universities and organisations regarding preparing university students for employment.
