Cash for Bins (a legal journalistic bin raid)

Sep 12, 2014, 04:46 PM

(Broadcast on BBC Radio Stoke. September 2014).

One lucky resident of Great Haywood was handed SIXTY POUNDS IN CASH from Stafford Borough Council.

The reason -- she was the first person to complete the authority's latest initiative to increase recycling rates in the borough beyond fifty per cent.

Once a month environmental experts will pick a street at random, knock doors and offer people the chance to take the recycling challenge.

If they don't find anything that should be recycling in the "normal" green wheelie bin, then the person living there gets the cash.

BBC Radio Stoke's Emma Thomas was in Great Haywood, for the very first door knock last night....
