Last Poets on Martin Luther King

I am very lucky with my job as I get an opportunity to get some really interesting people on air. On Weekend (25th August 2013) we played the interview with two of the members of the legendary Last Poets. They were at the heart of the African American civil rights movement and with the anniversary of 'I Have a Dream' they spoke to presenter Andrew Peach on the impact of the speech and being involved at that time. Our studio guests who discussed this after the interview were Phil Clark - lecturer in Comparative and International Politics at SOAS in London, and from Washington we were joined by Emira Woods - co-director of Foreign Policy in Focus at the Institute for Policy Studies. #bbcweekend #southbank #mlk #ihaveadream #lastpoets
