There has never been a better time in history to be blind… If you love to read that is, we now are starting to get greater and greater mainstream as well as specialized access to greater and greater amounts of the printed word and it's absolutely stunning

In March 2013 Barnes & Noble made there nook Application for iOS devices accessible for people who use voiceover… And at the beginning of May 2013 Amazon made their Kindle app, which was previously and stubbornly in accessible accessible to iOS device users who use voiceover There are other services and bring the printed word home to those of us 11 print disability there is for example book share with their read to go app audible with its audiobook app iBooks, and recently learning ally, formally recording for the blind and dyslexic in the United States made an app to where you could listen to contents on your iOS device… There is even more Excitement in the air because in early 2013 the national Library service for the blind and physically handicapped talking books program announced that despite their stance of not providing this access for years and years and years they are working on and will be releasing an iOS app and other platforms to come in the fall they are going to release Bard mobile… For iOS in projected to Mid-to-late summer? That way we can download stuff off of the Bard website and listen to that other iPhones as well… This makes me excited because if I ever get my hands on an iPad that will become my reading device for everything… Could spell the end of me having an iPhone? No… But my iPhone will have a lot more room for music and stuff because I'll be using the iPad mainly for all of my reading needs I am excited
