This is a recording I made while at a friend's apartment, as I discovered the interesting nature of the doorbell. This particular model doesn't use electricity. I don't know for certain, but it appears to use hydraulic pressure to move the clapper using a button on the other side of the door from the box.
The box itself is semi-exposed, allowing one to mute the individual notes, resulting in... well... this recording, which, by the way, was made using an Olympus LS100 and a set of Roland CS-10 EM microphones. Sorry for the air conditioner in the background, and for the terrible sound of my voice, so typical of this type of recording. #Binaugust #RecEv
