"Lose your hand, your leg or your life." That was the horrific choice given to a brick maker in India who tried to escape a form of modern slavery. His captors then cut off his hand with an axe. His story reveals the violent world of bonded labour, which has been illegal in India for nearly 40 years and banned under a #UN slavery convention since 1956. But activists say more than ten million Indians are trapped, working as forced labour. As the the economy becomes more entwined with global business, there's increasing pressure on multi-nationals operating in #India to stop it. Humphrey Hawksley has this special report.
