Love Your Bus campaign Public Meeting Westgate Chapel

Th ‪#‎loveyourbus‬ meeting yesterday was very well attended. We counted 70+ in the audience. The meeting was chaired by Tony Rowell who introduced LSTC's press officer and travel expert Chris Smith http://travelloglewes.co.uk/. After giving a short resume of the proposed cuts and why we should oppose them, the meeting was opened to contributions from the floor as to how to take the campaign forward; the audio from the meeting was also recorded. Suggestions included a targeted letter writing campaign and the use of social media during bus journeys to get the message over to younger bus users. We will be publishing a digest of these ideas asap. Many email addresses were collected and £66 of much appreciated donations was made. This money will be used to cover the meeting expenses and to pay for future campaign materials.Watch this space for more details.
