Dr. John is a name synonymous with the historic music legacy of the Crescent City New Orleans. His latest album project 'Ske-dat-de-dat, Spirit Of Satch' is a personal tribute to the great iconic jazz trumpeter Louis Armstrong, also a son of the city.

Dr. John is in London to perform at the EFG London Jazz Festival 2014 and came into Jazz FM with the producer of the new album, trombonist and arranger Sarah Morrow who worked with Ray Charles.

They discuss the sensitivities, key ingredients, personnel and spiritual connections that made the album. as well as a great passage on Dr. John's cooking and the joys of food with friends down in the swamps of Louisiana. Take a listen.
