Convicted murderer reflects on the effects of overcrowding in B.C. prisons

Prince George's prison is overstuffed with prisoners. B.C.'s Auditor General Carol Bellringer reports that prisoners are sharing cells designed for one. It's referred to as double-bunking.

Bellringer says this can produce unsafe conditions for the prison population in Prince George and other B.C. cities.

Glen Flett is the founder of prisoner advocacy group Long-Term Inmates in the Community. He's serving a life sentence for second-degree murder and is out on parole.

We spoke with him this morning on Daybreak.
