Google search changes will promote mobile-friendly sites

On social media it's being referred to as mobile-geddon, but could a Google upgrade really lead to loss of business for millions of firms around the world?

The search engine giant is making some pretty major changes to how it displays results when people search online.

From tomorrow, websites will get a higher ranking on search results if they are mobile friendly. That means if they have large text, easy to click links and immediately resize to fit different screen shapes.

And those which haven't adapted - will be pushed down the pecking order.

Google warned back in February that it was making the changes.

Paul Hallam director of CakeCraftWorld.co.uk, based in Kent in England told us mobile was big business for them, but making the changes in time has been tough.

And Adam Dorfman is from digital marketing firm SIM Partners, based in Chicago. We asked him whether businesses really needed to worry about the changes.
