Last night, dog act Jules O'Dwyer and Matisse was the shock winner of this years Britain's Got Talent. The border collie pocketed the £250,000 prize as well as getting the chance to perform at the Royal Variety show. The rescue dog walked across a tightrope in a performance described by Simon Cowell as "one of the best dog acts we've ever seen". They finished ahead of magician Jamie Raven and Welsh choir Cor Glanaethwy. And of course its not the first time a dog act has won the show, Ashleigh Butler and her dog Pudsey won the show in 2012.

But are these types of novelty acts cheapening the show and getting in the way of people with real talent?
