The globalization is a bit different. It has also one overarching feature ⎯integration. The world has become an increasingly interwoven place, and today, whether you are a company or a country, your threats and opportunities increasingly derive from who you are connected to. This globalization system is also characterized by a single word: the Web. So in the broadest sense we have gone to a system increasingly built around integration and webs. This leads to many other differences between the globalization system and the Cold War system. The globalization system, unlike the Cold War system, is not frozen, but a dynamic ongoing process. That's why I define globalization this way: it is the inexorable integration of markets, nation-states and technologies to a degree never witnessed before ⎯in a way that is enabling the world to reach into individuals, corporations and nation-states farther, faster, deeper than ever before.
