Government of Uganda announces troop withdrawal from South Sudan

The Government of Uganda announced on Monday that it would start withdrawing its army from South Sudan.

The Spokesperson of the Government of Uganda, Ofwono Opondo told Radio Miraya that the withdrawal is in accordance and in compliance with the IGAD mediated peace deal and the UN Security council resolution of Friday 09th October 2015.

Ofwono Opondo said the UPDF chief of staff of the land forces, has arrived in Juba to organize the logistical and administrative aspects of the UPDF withdrawal process. #southsudan, #Juba, #UPDF
