#Octaver Day 30: a Song From the One Album I Would Choose to Have with Me on a Desert Island

Oct 30, 2015, 05:51 PM

This is a piece by Canadian artiste extraordinaire Lori Pappajohn, who is my favourite harpist of all time. As many of you will know, that's really saying something, because I have a thing about harps and I like a looooooooooot of harpists. :-) She plays three different harps in this song: Paraguayan, Celtic and classical/concert. If I could only have one album with me on a desert island, Harp Dance by Lori Pappajohn would be the one. I never get tired of listening to it. Celtic Harp of Dreams was the one I heard first, and consequently it holds a place of great fondness in my heart, but I think Harp Dance is a better showcase for Lori's multitudinous talents. It's a shame she doesn't play her classical or Celtic flutes on this album, but she does sing on some tracks - most beautifully, I might add! #harp #LoriPappajohn #music #Octaver
