First Nation leaders on the north coast ask occupiers of Lelu Island to stop interfering with LNG research

For the past 70 days, members of the Lax Kw'alaams First Nation have been camping on Lelu Island to protest a proposed liquefied natural gas project near Prince Rupert. Occupiers say if the Pacific Northwest LNG project moves forward it will damage critical salmon habitat. But leaders of the Metlakatla, Kitsumkalum, Kitsealas, and Gitxaala First Nations want research work in the area to continue. We speak to Clifford White, chief councillour of the Gixaala First Nation.
