How to Win: Catherina McKiernan. Champion Runner

Catherina Mc Kiernan is an champion long-distance runner. Catherina has won 4 European silver medals in the cross country championships and to this day holding the Irish record for the Marathon. In fact, Catherina has won numerous marathons all over the world including those in London, Amsterdam, and Berlin. Still running today whether it be in Phoenix Park or with a group the up-and-coming generation of athletes to whom she acts as a mentor, athletics will always be a big part of Catherina's life.

Her motto: Pain is temporary and pride is forever.

Catherina talks about what it means to be a winner and the importance of having that winning mindset - the fearlessness at the start line and believing in yourself.

In this short clip Catherina reiterates the importance of formal athletes 'giving back' and how she would like to pass on her experiences to the next generation of athletes
