Winning Women - Marathon: Linda Byrne

When she achieved the Olympic A standard by running a personal best of 2.36.23 in last year's Dublin Marathon 25 year old Dubliner Linda Byrne became Ireland's first women's Olympics A-standard qualifier since 1988. She has since been joined by three others - more than our permitted entry level and while Maria McCambridge has consequently been excluded Linda is joined on the London 2012 starting line by fellow marathon champions Ava Hutchinson and Catriona Jennings.
