"People on Country, Vital Landscapes, Indigenous Futures" is a compilation of essays looking at some of the more positive aspects of Australia's Indigenous people managing their country.

It stems from the People and Country project which is jointly funded by the Australian National University, the New South Wales government and the Australian Research Council

The book has thirteen contributors, each offering an insight into Indigenous people's perceptions of resource management and environmental threats.

One of the editors, Jon Altman from the Australian Research Council who has worked on for People on Country for 30 years discusses the story behind the book with Geraldine Coutts, ABC's Radio Australia.
