With Halloween just around the corner, how would you fancy spending a night in what is reputed to be one of Ireland’s most haunted houses? Loftus Hall in County Wexford is a partially restored house on the Hook Head Peninsula, parts of which may date to the 14th century. This week the house and grounds open to the public for the first time in many years, having been bought and saved from ruin by local man Aidan Quigley. There are many stories surrounding the house, and few living in the area would agree to spend a night in a house where the devil is reported to have played a game of cards. Report went out on Today with Pat Kenny on RTE Radio 1.
