GRACE CHOKERS 4
MOMENTS OF GRACE - TUESDAY, DECEMBER 11,2012 - GRACE CHOKERS 4 (Luke 18:18-30) by Pastor Arnel Tan
Luke 18: 28-30
28 Peter said, "We've left our homes to follow you."
29 "Yes," Jesus replied, "and I assure you that everyone who has given up house or wife or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of the Kingdom of God,
30 will be repaid many times over in this life, and will have eternal life in the world to come."
REGRETS AND RECOLLECTION OF SACRIFICES BLOCKS GRACE(28-30)
Peter's comments is not of gratitude but of recalling his investments
Recollection and parading of our sacrifices of God exalts self as a Giver to God instead of a receiver of grace
It blocks full enjoyment of grace because it feeds entitlement instead of service
The Lord assures Peter that none that is surrendered to God is not blessed by God
God's pouring of grace outweighs our sacrifices for Him
Parading our sacrifices nourishes our effort and highlights our earning God's favor
It blocks grace and creates self-confidence instead of joyful dependence
Regrets are all about not having everything we want, dependence allows grace to flow freely making us a channel not a container of grace
