The man behind Argo

Ben Affleck's film "Argo" won the best picture Oscar. It's set during the Iranian revolution, when student protesters stormed the US embassy, taking dozens of hostages. Six Americans evaded capture, and took refuge with their Canadian counterparts. The CIA hatched a plot to smuggle the six out of the country by posing as Canadian film producers hoping to shoot a blockbuster sci-fi film called "Argo". Tony Mendez was the real life CIA agent who carried out that mission, while the BBC's Gavin Hewitt was on the streets of Tehran covering the revolution. They gave BH their account of that tumultuous time.
