Crimes against Goths?

Do sub cultural groups like goths, emos and punks need the same protection from the state as say gay people or persons of different ethnicity? This is an argument being made in Manchester by police following a campaign after the murder of a 20 year old goth Sophie Lanchester, killed in 2007 because of the way she looked. In recent days, I met with goths in Cork, exploring their lifestyles and finding out if they feel threatened because they look different. Report aired on Today with Pat Kenny on RTE Radio 1.
