NFU sugar board chairman William Martin explains why he has rejected British Sugar's offer of a price increase for the 2014 sugar beet crop pending a meeting with growers.

British Sugar has proposed a price of £30.67/t for the 2014 crop.

But the NFU says it can't accept the offer before consulting farmers amid concerns that the price inadequately reflects the risks and costs of growing beet.
