In Madagascar, the three controversial candidates have until the end of July to withdraw from the presidential race or sanctions will apply.

Ex-first lady Lalao Ravalomanana, ex-president Didier Ratsiraka and current head of state Andry Rajoelina still refuse not to run.

The ongoing crisis has delayed the vote initially set for July 24th.

SADC mediator Joaquim Chissano says that the international community will withdraw its support for the vote if the three candidates take part in the election.
