Media Talk podcast: how to succeed in podcasting

Aug 02, 2013, 06:18 AM

This week we have a podcast on … podcasts. It's been 10 years since the Guardian first coined the term, we ask who's doing it, why – and is anyone making a living from it? Helen Zaltzman, one half of Answer Me This, is joined on her travels by Olly Mann and comedy producer Ben Walker of Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre Podcast. Other guests include the Guardian's own Francesca Panetta, and Helen's brother, Andy Zaltzman, of news satire The Bugle. Across the pond, we hear from Jesse Thorn, producer of the Maximum Fun network, and Roman Mars, the man behind cult-favourite design podcast 99% Invisible. Do you produce – or are thinking about starting – a podcast? Will we be talking about it in another 10 years? Share your advice on making great programmes in the comments below.
